Small Groups

Being part of a Small Group can provide meaningful relationships within the larger faith community.  A small group can mean Bible Study, Sunday School, Choir, or being part of a ministry team or mission group.  Our goal is for EVERYONE at MUMC to have their own personal needs met as they grow in their faith.  If you are not currently part of a small group, or would like to form one or lead one, please contact Janet Baggott 540-289-9892 or email at baggottj@gmail.com so that we may help you find a group that meets your needs.  The Christian life is one of continual growth through the Christian practices of studying the Bible, prayer, worship and service.

Current offerings:

Small Group Meeting for Women (Christian Chicks) meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday, 6pm at Mary FItzpatrick's home.  They have a quick meal before the study begins.  Any Questions?  Call (289-3420) or email (maryinva48@comcast.net).

Women's Bible Study (led by Artie Frederick, 289-6933) meets every Tuesday morning 10AM at the church.

Men's Fellowship Group meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 10am.  Contact Tom Baggott (540-289-9892) for information.

Dinner Groups - this is a good way to get to know other people in the church.  Small groups of 6 to 8 adults get together once a month to share a meal.  Sometimes the meal is in someone's home, sometimes it is a picnic, eating at a resturant or watching a movie together.  We periodically draw names to reform the groups.  If you are interested, call Joe Amend 540-289-5071.

Wednesday Nite Alive: Different Bible Study offerings (changes each "semester") on every Wednesday at the church throughout the fall and spring seasons.  It starts with dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by Bible Study at 6:15 p.m.  Stay for choir practice at 7:20 p.m. Nursery for little ones, Devotionals & Activities for school-aged children, Teen Bible Study now offered, and two different adult classes. Check out the Wednesday Nite Alive page for more details.

Sunday School is held from 10:00am to 10:45am every Sunday morning. MUMC has many classes for many age groups: Nursery, Rock Church for Kids, JAM for 4th-5th graders, Tweens for 6-7th graders, High School (looking for a fun name for this group!), ACTS (mostly parents of small & school-aged children, although all are welcome), New Beginnings for "empty nesters", Willing Workers, The Friendship Bible Class... We are now offering a Sunday Bible Class with rotating studies and teachers...If you aren't sure where to go, just ask or visit around until you find your "home". We are always looking for those who want to help teach any of the Nursery-12th graders as well.
